Fraunhofer IPA is a leading German research group specializing in industrial production and R&D. In collaboration with Quantica, the institute is researching functional liquids for jettability and developing digital processes to replace analog material-deposition methods.
Digitalize production processes
Work with a wider range of fluids
Print materials no other printhead can
ServicesFraunhofer IPA is one of Quantica's research partners, performing development services to validate and characterize new fluids for printing, including adhesives, coatings, and screen printing pastes. Fraunhofer IPA owns a NovoJet® OPEN Printer and JetPack, which they use to validate and characterize these materials for their customers.
These paid services are specific to each application and typically involve material analysis, jetting trials, and proof-of-concept print samples.
publicly funded projectsQuantica, Fraunhofer IPA, and Droptical are engaged in a joint, publicly-funded project through Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand (ZIM).
The project, "Entwicklung eines industriellen Moduldruckwerks mit integriertem Prognosesystem zur Verarbeitung hochviskoser Materialien für 2,5D Applikationen" ("Development of an industrial modular printing unit with an integrated prognosis system for processing high-viscosity materials for 2.5D applications"), focuses on material jetting and drop monitoring for production environments.
